This Tabard Inn Revolving bookcase is in good antique condition.  It has a peaked roof with two pediments inscribed "The Tabard Inn", carved throughout with heraldic shields, inscriptions and subjects.  This Treasured Antique bookcase holds approximately 120 books. There is a deposit compartment in the bookcase. The inscription encircling around the top of the bookcase reads "The Best Reading Rooms In the United States Are the Homes of the American People". The Tabard Inn Library was founded in 1902 by Seymour Eaton.  Each book was identified by a sturdy black case encircled by red tape, hence, the slogan "With all the Red Tap on the Box".  c.  1902
