Lucas y Padilla is considered a Spanish Master. He was born in Alcala de Henares in 1824 and died in Madrid in 1870. In his paintings of figures, landscapes and portraits, he imitated both Goya and Velazquez. He is listed in Benezit and numerous dictionaries of art.
